Bayou is a leading edtech company that develops TYRA, a comprehensive preschool app for educational work and communication within preschools. Focusing on simplicity, user-friendliness, and efficiency, TYRA is currently used by thousands of preschools in Sweden, Norway, and Spain. Since 2021, Bayou has been part of the DSS Group, enabling synergies and further expansion into the international market.
TYRA began as a project during a vocational college education where the founder, Ove Klintman, a former educator, identified a need for improved communication between preschools and homes. Together with two classmates, he developed a prototype during his internship, leading to initial funding from the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority. With this funding, they launched the first version of Tyra in 2015. Expansion into Norway and Spain followed, and in 2021, Bayou was acquired by DSS to continue its growth journey within a larger edtech group.
With over 2,500 preschools and 250,000 satisfied users, Tyra is one of the most trusted digital solutions in Sweden.
